Dermot Hegarty
... comes from County Longford. He is a singer & songwriter whose first recording entered the Irish charts in 1967. In 1969, he formed the Plainsmen and a year leter, he recorded his biggest hit: "21 Years” (No.1 for 2 weeks & 39 weeks in the chart). He has toured Canada, the United States, and Europe, topping the bill at Carnegie Hall (New York) and Royal Albert Hall (London). He has recorded 25 albums & worked as entertainment director for cruise lines & a travel company.
